Accountant/Controller for Nordic Capital Advisors
Nordic Capital Advisors, one of the largest Private Equity companies in the Nordics, is now seeking an Accountant/Controller.
If you enjoy working with accounting and controlling, this split position offers great opportunities for variation, challenges, and development within our Finance Function!
About the role
As an Accountant, you will work closely with ten professional and friendly colleagues who handle around 20 companies located in Sweden, the Nordics, Europe, and the USA. Responsibilities are shared among colleagues within the Finance Function, and while you will work independently and drive your own processes forward, you will maintain close and frequent communication with your colleagues to ensure detail orientation and accuracy.
You will gradually work your way into the controller role, building the foundation from your work in accounting. As you develop and act as a controller, you will also be part of the cost control team, where you will play a pivotal role in the annual budget and forecast process, as well as quarterly follow-ups. You will have close contact with important stakeholders and assist in producing reports for management.
You will report to the Finance Manager and be based at our office at Mäster Samuelsgatan.
Main responsibilities
Your main responsibilities for the Swedish companies will primarily involve tasks such as basic bookkeeping, monthly closing, reconciliations, financial control of income statements and balance sheets, VAT, tax returns, and annual reports.
For entities outside Sweden the entire accounting is performed by accounting firms in their respective countries. These firms report monthly to the Finance function in Sweden, and your task will therefore be to ensure that the accounting is in line with internal guidelines.
You will also respond to questions from accounting firms and administrators at the local offices on an ongoing basis, and you will also be the contact person for auditors in each respective country.
Throughout the year, you will carefully follow up, analyse, and prepare quarterly consolidated reports. In addition, you will handle and update existing Excel models and provide necessary data to the accounting team.
Qualifications and experience
We seek a candidate with post-secondary education in accounting and a minimum of five years of experience in qualified accounting. Having worked with annual reports and tax is meritable.
It would be advantageous if you have experience with managing several companies simultaneously, perhaps at an accounting firm or as a consultant. Experience in the consulting/professional services or finance industries is also desirable.
Fluent spoken and written Swedish and English are essential as you will be in contact with colleagues in several countries and we assume you possess very good Excel skills.
Personal qualities
As a person, you are independent but enjoy being part of a team that works together. You are flexible in your approach to work and have your own drive and curiosity that contributes to a high problem-solving ability. You have high integrity, always want to provide a great service experience to the rest of the organization and generally contribute to a good work environment.
What we offer
At Nordic Capital Advisors, you will find a welcoming and professional atmosphere where there is a high level of trust, and many people stay for a long time. We offer an ambitious environment where you can grow and have a big impact on the business overall. Additionally, we provide a range of generous amenities amongst others breakfast, wellness allowance, health insurance, social activities, and a city center office location.
